Adam Edward Watkins is a poet, scholar, and educator. In each capacity, his focus is the same: to better understand the social factors that shape individual development, with human sciences and the built environment taking pride of place.

He currently teaches writing, cultural studies, and first-year exploratory courses in the Purdue Honors College – a living, learning community.  He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Literary Studies from Purdue University, an MFA in Poetry from Saint Mary’s College of California, and BA’s in Rhetoric and Finance from the University of Illinois. His first book of poetry — Dear, Companion — was published by Dream Horse Press in 2012.
